As a professor of cultural management and cultural studies, Prof. Dr. Gernot Wolfram played a key role in the restructuring of the "Sports - Culture and Event Management" study program at the Kufstein University of Applied Sciences in Tyrol. As an author and freelance journalist, he has written for publications including Die Welt, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Jüdische Allgemeine, and has also been involved in numerous theatrical and festival projects. Since 2009 he has acted as a consultant on Intercultural Communication and European Cultural Work for the European Commission in Germany’s Team Europe. In 2007 he supervised the "Intercultural Summer School Berlin" as the scientific director as well as numerous other media and cultural projects put on by the European Information Center Berlin. Since then, his focus has been on international and European cultural and media projects. Since 2006, he has been the Federal Center for Political Education’s expert for media sociology and integration. After completing his PhD at the Freie Universität Berlin, Prof. Wolfram graduated as a lecturer at the University of Breslau (Wroclaw) and worked for the city of Görlitz-Zgorzelec. He publishes regularly on participation, empowerment and community building.

Internationally, Prof. Wolfram is involved in numerous research projects on empowerment and organisational cultures as they relate to cultural and media management. Key to this is his cultural-scientific approach to these fields of science and practice.

At the Macromedia University, Prof. Wolfram brings his international experience to bear and likes to engage with his students, both theoretically and practically, in thinking about new innovative forms of action in the creative industries. From his students, he expects enthusiasm, a passion for scientific accuracy and innovative research, as well as sensitivity when dealing with people and ideas.

As the head of the Graduate School in Berlin, he is responsible for the Master's students at the Berlin campus.
