International Office - Everything about coming to Germany and the integrated semester abroad

The International Office is the interface for all incoming Macromedia students and foreign exchange students as well as the outgoing Macromedia students who are spending a semester abroad at one of our partner universities


Services for Macromedia students going abroad (6+1 Programme)

Is there a better way to learn about another country and culture than spending time there? We think NO! Spending a semester abroad therefore is a part of the Macromedia curriculum for bachelor students. In our wide network of partner universities, there is a place for everyone. Of course you are not alone when it comes to organizing your stay abroad. The International Office helps and supports you in any matter regarding your semester abroad including the following:

- Arrival and departure tips for our partner universities

- Conditions for entry and residence

- Insurances

- Compiling the required documents for the partner university

- Finding a contact person at the relevant partner university

- Organizing meetings for information exchange

And last but not least, we also advise you during your time abroad. You can contact our International Office from abroad at any time.


Service for all international students coming to Macromedia University

Arriving and settling in a new country can be hard. We want to make your start in Germany as smooth as possible. We are there for you any time and lend you a helping hand and provide tips, tricks and information regarding the following: 


Housing

- Tips and useful information about finding accommodation, rental contracts, important steps involved in settling into a new accommodation, the best districts to live in and so on  

- Useful information about living in Germany in general 

Buddy Programme

- Buddies are current students from higher semester, who guide new international students who may need support in their first semester

(Health-) Insurance

- General information about the German health insurance system

- Support in finding the right insurance

- Connecting students with (health-) insurance provider in case of need
 

Information and support for orientation to Germany

- Information about the city

- Information about the necessary steps to complete before coming to Germany 

- Information about the important to dos after arriving in Germany including registration, opening a bank account, getting a contact number, German language courses etc.)

Events

- Cultural events in the city and campus 

- Career events on the campus

- Academic events


Services for exchange students from Partner Universities

- Simple application process: Direct application at Macromedia University through Home University 

- Admission to exchange studies at Macromedia University
