Occupation following studies: Co-Founder & CEO, Foodguide App
Where do you work now and what is your position?
Foodguide App UG (limited liability), Co-Founder & CEO

What does your role entail?
Sales & Marketing, Corporate Management and Fundraising

Why did you take the position and what inspires you?
I always wanted to start my own business and build something of my own. Then an idea became a bigger project - and suddenly there was a chance. What inspires me: leading a team, to have responsibility and to drive a project of my own.

Did you imagine you'd be doing this kind of job before you began your studies?
I started my studies with a firm intention to develop my own projects and use the contents of the course and the university network to implement them.

How did the teachers and projects at the university prepare you for the work you're doing today?
The network I gained access to through our professor for digital media management, especially Philipp Riehm, combined with the excursions and network events at the university, prepared me and my fellow students very well for our current activities.

Where did you do your internship semester and how would you rate your experience there?
I spent my internship semester at Wandnotiz Gbr - another start-up from a Macromedia alumni. There I was able to gain exciting experiences about founding a business, responsibility and failure. It helped me avoid many mistakes on my own journey to self employment.

How would you evaluate your semester at the foreign partner university? What experiences did you take away?
The semester abroad was a great experience and a life lesson for me. Not everyone gets the chance to get to know a completely new culture for half a year. The partner university,  the supporting program and the experiences in a foreign country, taught me many things that would benefit my future career.

How was your contact with your fellow students? Are you still in touch today?
My contact with fellow students was extensive and has remained so to this day. However, a more extensive alumni network would definitely be helpful.

When you think back to your studies, what really stands out?
The lively exchanges we enjoyed on excursions and with experts in lectures.

What do you think about "change and transformation"?

How important is it to be "open to change" to be successful today and in the future modern, digitally driven world of work?
It's incredibly important. There are still many conservative industries that have to be digitalized to be able to compete on the world market in the future.

Do you know where you want to be in 10 years time?

To only take on projects that bring me personal enjoyment and enrichment.

Is there any advice you would like to share with our freshmen?
Just do it, and stick to it!
