What positive experiences did you gain from your studies?
The practical courses, seminars and project work. Right from the start, I had the feeling that I was working on real, communication challenges for "customers". That was a real added value. The integrated internship semester also opened many doors for my professional career.

How did the internship semester benefit you the most?
I had the opportunity to work for six months in a company within the six-semester program and this proved to be the absolute success factor for my professional career. After the internship, I was able to continue as a working student at the company and moved to a permanent position after completing my degree. I doubt any of this would have happened without the internship.

What advice you would give to first semester students making their way at the university?
Don't be too dazzled by the big name companies. Even though I was lucky enough to join a large company after completing my studies, the learning opportunities in smaller companies and agencies – even as a newcomer – are much more diverse and varied. Better to gain 2-3 years agency experience and then enter the industry with a broader knowledge base.

What is your personal #youchange story?
To change from a cosmetics company (Beiersdorf) with a world-famous brand (NIVEA), to a global medical technology company (Dräger)  that's relatively unknown. From B2C to B2B. A really exciting change with completely different challenges and tasks!
