Globalisation and the speed of information in the 21st century have increasingly challenged established companies in regards to their processes and the way they have been operating. From the manufacturers, retailers, service providers to the consumers – old structures have more than once been turned upside down. The big economic crisis of 2008 has shown how quickly entire countries can slip into a recession. Modern and cross skilled management skills (T-shaped qualifications) have become vital in today’s internationalised economy where media and the speed of communication have become as important as the fundamentals of good business administration.

The Bachelor's of Honours Degree in International Management is offered as part of the Management branch and is aimed at students who would like to study management with a strong international and media focus at Germany’s largest private university for media, design and management.

Strategic collaboration with the University of Westminster

This Bachelor’s study programme is offered through our strategic collaboration with the University of Westminster. In this programme, you will be studying in Germany at the Macromedia University while being enrolled at the University of Westminster. Studying the excellent curriculum validated by the prestigious University of Westminster while benefitting from direct exposure to the industry in Germany means that you get the best of both worlds. Upon graduation, you will receive the globally recognised BA (Hons) degree from the University of Westminster.

Course content and your competencies

Students of the International Management BA (Hons) programme will be prepared for an international career in business administration, strategy, human resource management, marketing, public relations, corporate finance as well as controlling and distribution. Strong focus on practice

Throughout the course, you will carry out practical projects where the theoretical knowledge will be applied to real-life scenarios, usually in co-operation with well-known companies within Macromedia's network of more than 500 practice partners. While working on the study projects, you will gain tangible practical skills that are crucial to becoming a successful manager in the Industry 4.0 that is constantly evolving. In addition to honing your professional skills, you will polish your personal skills, such as teamwork, leadership and communication, thus growing into a well-rounded professional.


Macromedia cooperates with a large number of renowned companies where you will spend a full semester as an intern under the supervision of your professors. This is a very important part of the course which will give you the opportunity to gain your first practical experience and to start networking with the industry.

Semester Abroad

At Macromedia University, you will benefit from an international study experience. You will spend one semester at one of our prestigious partner universities and earn 30 ECTS credits, which are fully recognised and integrated into your course. In this semester, you will forge valuable contacts, accumulate international experience and perhaps even make new friends for life. You will expand your cultural perspectives and learn from them in order to become a well-rounded professional with a global outlook. Direct path from Bachelor to Master

After your Bachelor studies, you have the chance to continue directly into a related Macromedia Master programme. The following two Master specialisations are the perfect continuation onto your graduate studies:
If you have earned 210 ECTS points with the 7-semester Bachelor’s degree, you can join the 3-semester Master's in the Summer Semester in March. If you have only 180 ECTS points, you can join the 4-semester Master's in the Winter Semester in October.
