Study Bachelor's degree in Event Management (B.A.)

Bachelor's Degree in Media Management with specialisation in Event Management - emotion, excitement and celebration

An experience for all the senses - that is the great strength of a live event. This could be the Munich Oktoberfest, a performance by Lady Gaga in front of tens of thousands of fans, the opening of the Berlinale with stars like George Clooney on the red carpet or the Street Life Festival with finger food from all over the world, well-known show acts and open-air cinema.

The magic of big events is endless and has always inspired people all over the world. It is not a coincidence that the large event arenas continue to be built today in the style of the Roman coliseum or the Greek amphitheatre. It was here that the great events took place, making history, entertaining the people and serving political ends. Even today events have an irresistible appeal for all generations. New concepts and marketing ideas are constantly being developed in the event industry. Formats such as flash mobs are a good example of the influence of social media in the event sector. Virtual events are bound to increase in the coming years and virtual reality is already opening up new, fascinating worlds to visitors of these happenings with the use of 3D glasses.

As an event manager, events of all kinds are your profession and your passion. It is an extremely multifaceted career for creative thinkers with a vision. The goal of an event can be to entertain, motivate, impress, inspire or to bring people together. Every two years, the Biennale in Venice, for example, offers the art scene an opportunity for interaction and inspiration, not to mention the chance to make valuable international contacts. For any city, a music or summer festival is an effective way to increase the attractiveness of the region.

The job market for event managers is as broad as the spectrum of events. As an expert in event management, you will master the professional conception, planning, promotion, implementation and analysis of events of all types and sizes. You will understand how to arouse emotions, give spectators goose bumps and ensure that an event pays off economically or lives up to its promise. Choose this course if applause motivates you more than results.
