Full House: Industry Day at Macromedia Munich

What kind of careers are out there in the media business, the creative industries and the management world? Macromedia University kicked off a series of events, where students meet successful players in person and benefit from their knowledge and network. Organized by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Badr and the students Prerna Lahiri and Lea Wahhäuser the first edition of MacroSphere’s Industry Days proved a great success.

MacroSphere’s first Industry Day was a huge success with over 70 attendees! The event took place with three renowned agencies presenting: Rapid peaks, Attractive Media and Jack Morton. Each agency provided their perspective about the future of agencies and their line of work.

Social Media: Alex Khan from Attractive Media

Alex Khan, a social media specialist, and CEO of Attractive Media spoke about how social media is necessary for any company to stay relevant. He provided tips on how to capture the attention of an audience, building a strong social media presence and shared some useful social media insights.

Experiental Branding: Julien Le Bas from Jack Morton

Julien Le Bas, SVP and Executive Creative Director of Jack Morton, shared his perspective on experiential branding. He also shared multiple examples and projects that the company has done. Attendees learned how Jack Morton experiential branding and marketing revolves around storytelling that is immersive, responsive, curated and connected.

Sport Marketing: Craig Tompkins and Martin Lieser from Rapid Peaks

Craig Tompkins and Martin Lieser, Senior Art Director and Creative Content Manager of Rapid Peaks, shared how their agency handles different projects with a focus on brands, talents, properties, clubs, and federations. Their agency centralized on the notion of being a human-centered agency. Mr. Chrsitian Hartmann the managing director of the agency also provided multiple examples of campaigns they have conducted.

The panel discussion at the end allowed attendees to interact with the presenters and ask the questions that were important to them! Along with this, the networking session of the event allowed everyone to exchange ideas and connect. Many students were told of the employment opportunities available to them as well.

The very first Industry Day by MacroSphere proved to be very insightful, and there was extensive positive feedback.
