Orientation Days at Campus Berlin: Macromedia University Welcomes 130 Freshmen from all over the World

In winter term 2017/18, 130 new students take up their Bachelor- or Master studies at Macromedia University Berlin. Out of these, about 90 chose an international study program – therefore, the campus Berlin further strengthens its profile as internationally relevant media school for digital change. On the welcome days for German and English students, the freshmen from all over the world got to meet each other for the first time.

26th of September, 2017, cafeteria of Macromedia University Berlin: faces glowing with excitement all over the place. 34 German speaking Bachelor students will start a new chapter of their lives in winter term 2017/18: they decided to study Media and Communication Management or Music Management at the campus Berlin. Over the course of three and a half years, they will not only learn how to form a communication strategy or how to write a business plan, but also reach for first contacts in the business world – practical experience is a main focus of Macromedia University.

But before the newbies start planning their semesters abroad and their internships, first of all the goal is to get fully acquainted with the student life. Of course, for this not only the introduction to the faculty and staff as well as to the orientation at the campus were essential. Connecting with future study colleagues might be the most important thing when arriving at a new school. Therefore, marketing professor Dr. Brigitte Kleinselbeck, scientific researcher Kata Katz and PR-employee Nora Werbeck took the youngsters to the interactive Communication Museum Berlin to offer a gentle start into university life.

Start Studying Light: Tour to the Interactive Museum for Communication

Here, the communication managers to be could not only test their qualities as news anchors in front of the green screen, pose with the communication robots or battle each other in writing the funniest pneumatic post – most essentially, they got to know the people who will sit next to them in the upcoming years. Eventually, every media person knows: connections are the hottest currency you can pay with in the communication sector, and many of them are formed already during the time of one’s studies. It also does not hurt to spend your years at university along friends, of course.

Full House also at the International Welcome Day

Getting to know each other was therefore also the main aim at the second, international welcome day on the 29th of September: over 100 new faces from all over the world entered the university for the bonding event hosted by professors Astrid Friese, Lars Grau and Thomas Stegmann. This winter term, more students than ever have registered for an English Bachelor or Master program at Macromedia University Berlin, which is nowadays well-known beyond German borders for its international approach.

About 20 fashion designers to be decided to go for the newly established bachelor program of the partner universities Atelier Chardon Savard and hKDM. The international Master program Media and Communication Management counts as well 20 new faces from the USA, South America, Columbia and other countries. Another 60 study beginners chose one of the English Bachelor programs – for example the new International Management, as well as Media Design and Media and Communication Management. Exchange students from the Paris School of Business, the Ecole de Communication Sub de Pub Paris, the Kwangwoon University Seoul and the Griffith College Dublin make the campus Berlin even more international this year.

Great Success: Macromedia Strengthens its International Brand Further

Recently appointed campus director Nils Hansen could not be more excited about how well the intercultural approach of Macromedia Berlin’s study offers is received: "We are very proud to be able to further sharpen our profile as internationally acclaimed media school.
