A Berlin student project makes a splash: Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Gernot Wolfram, MA students from Macromedia University launched the "Booklet of Participation". The initiative gathered together free tickets from Berlin sporting, cultural and event organizers to give to refugees with the aim of helping them become more involved in society. They also developed a participatory educational model.

The initiative quickly gained enormous support from the Berlin organizers, media and residents. Just four months after starting the initiative the students were able to distribute over 1,200 tickets for concerts, sports events and festivals to people living in Berlin refugee camps.

Support for the initiative continues unabated and has motivated some of the students to continue their involvement in BOP beyond the end of the semester. Together with their professor Dr. Gernot Wolfram, they have offered their services on a volunteer basis to the non-profit association Board of Participation (http://boardofparticipation.de) and in doing so have paved the way for a permanent community involvement.

Positive feedback about the project came from media outlets such as taz, the Berliner Zeitung, the Berliner KurierZittyBerlinberlin.de - and from Joko Winterscheidt und Matthias Schweighöfer from the KISS FM CUP.
